A failed attempt at frugality
Since we have been in Texas, Jon and I been telling Brennah that we will take her climbing. The first time, we got a late start and Brennah had a bad attitude, so we stayed home. The second time, we went to REI, but the climbing wall was closed. On Saturday, while I was in an Arbonne meeting, Jon took the girls to REI. The wall was closed until 1:00, so they picked me up at 12:00, we ate at Chic-Fil-A and went back to the store. On the first trip Jon decided to buy Brennah a bike helmet and bike pads...and a Yakima rack for a bike, "It was a great deal!" When we came back, the first thing we saw was a sign that read NO CLIMBING WITH OPEN TOED SHOES. You have got to be kidding me. We looked at each other. Brennah had on flip flops. There was no way that we could tell her we had to go home again without climbing. Upstairs we went to find her a pair of shoes. My 5 year old now owns Keens. Finally she had her "free" climb... over a hundred dollars later. A good rule of thumb? Never let a doting Daddy alone in an outdoor store with two adorable little girls.
