....
So this Easter was the first one without my side of the family, Jon had to work so he slept most of the day and left again at five, and Jon's parents went to Cumming to be with her mom, so thankfully the Baileys and the Rileys joined us for Easter. What a feast! Jen made crock pot macaroni and roasted lamb and Tim did some key lime pies, Holly prepared garlic mashed potatoes, fresh squeezed lemonade and strawberry shortcake and I made deviled eggs, fresh green beans, brownies, sweet tea and bread. Delicious! Right before we were ready to eat, I heard a loud commotion outside. When I went to investigate I was met by Jon and a distraught, sobbing Bren. Tilly the dog had murdered a baby bunny, and dropped it at the feet of the most sensitive child ever born. On Easter...really, the irony that is my life. Jon buried it while I tried to attempt damage control. When Jon was done, he took Brennah out for closure. He prayed about the bunny and Brennah named it Feather. Finally, it was dinnertime. The rest of the day went qiute smoothly, except for suspecting a hornet's nest on the porch. My family has always done a leaven hunt instead of an Easter egg thing on Easter. It is a Jewish tradition, obviously adapted for Easter and I noticed that Jennifer explained the whole thing on her blog, so just click to hers to get fully educated. The Bailey family has been celebrating Easter with us for three years now, what a welcome addition to the day! Hey Rileys! You guys up for next year?
